Nils kommt fast ins Halbfinale im Ullevi

Alle fünften Klassen Göteborgs haben an einem gigantischen Fußballturnier teilgenommen. 146 Mannschaften traten gegeneinander an. Nils Mannschaft legte einen zauberhaften Siegeszug hin und gewann Spiel um Spiel. Jeden Tag kam er glücklicher nach Hause: Wir sind wieder weitergekommen. Sein Ziel war es, zum Halbfinale auf dem heiligen Rasen des Göteborger Ullevi Stadiums spielen zu dürfen. Doch dieser Wunsch wurde knapp verfehlt: Seine Mannschaft kam auf dem 5. Platz, weil sie am Ende des Viertelfinales im Elfmeterschießen verloren haben… Eine beachtliche Leistung, wenn man bedenkt, dass man in Schweden erst mit 7 Jahren eingeschult wird und deshalb alle anderen Schüler der fünften Klassen ein ganzes Jahr älter waren als die Mannschaft der internationalen Schule. Herzlichen Glückwunsch, Nils!!!

All the fifth graders of entire Gothenburg participated in a gigantic football tournament with 146 teams. Nils team made a triuphant progress as they won match after match. Each day he came a little happier home: “we made it again!” His goal was to reach the semi final and play on the holy ground of the Ullevi stadium in Göteborg. But unfortunately it was not granted to them: His team scored on place five, they ended the last game of the quarter final in a draw and then they lost the penalties. Anyway, it was a great performance, all the more as all the other 5-graders were one year older than Nils team (in Sweden children start grade 1 at the age of 7, at the international school you start at the age of 6). Congratulations, Nils!
